Grant Opportunity: LA County Dept. of Public Health

DPH is requesting proposals for initiatives that address obesity prevention through policy, systems, and environmental changes that increase access to physical activity and healthy foods.

DPH will fund approximately eight initiatives at approximately $125,000 per year for two years.  Please note that the funding for this RFP is contingent upon DPH receiving grant funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The RFP addresses obesity prevention through policy, systems, and environmental changes that increase access to physical activity and healthy foods.  The RFP solicits proposals from cities, community-based organizations, and school districts in Los Angeles County.  Applicants are required to form partnerships with one or more of these entities in order to apply for funding.  Proposals will be due on Monday, December 21st at 5 p.m.  Applicants will be notified of funding decision on or about February 27, 2010.
